Celebrating our Community Impact with our latest award shortlisting for Scottish Business of the Year 2026

Launched for the first time this year by The Business Desk, SPA will stand alongside 44 ‘innovating, disrupting and thriving’ organisations nominated for their achievements across 14 categories spanning from investments and sustainability, to property and business development.

Following a thorough judging process involving over 80 applicants, SPA are proud to be amongst the first businesses in Scotland shortlisted for Community Impact in these inaugural awards. This category celebrates organisations of all sizes who create real, measurable change and lead the way in community impact practices.

The announcement comes as recognition for SPA’s mission to transform the way Scotland procures through a community focused and social value approach.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we reinvest the surplus earned from our solutions back to our public sector partners to develop and inspire community development.

Now merged with the SPA Community Benefit Fund, we have developed a smarter, fairer structure for community investment, enabling our partners to distribute funding towards a diverse range of community led activities that are revitalising and sustaining local areas

Informed by our partnership with Scottish charity, Lintel Trust, we have supported initiatives tackling a host of community priorities, including mental health support, employability and skill development, and food and energy poverty.

Now, as the SPA Community Benefit Fund nears almost a decade of serving Scotland’s most deprived areas, we are proud to have supported over 42,000 residents assisting more than 50 local organisations and charities to deliver 134 community projects.

This collaborative procurement model has enabled us to distribute over £6 million back to the public sector, with £1.3m directly invested through the SPA Community Benefit Fund.

Being named a finalist alongside many other inspiring organisations is a true honour. Award ceremonies like these highlight the incredible effort and impact that is driving the revitalisation of local areas.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Voco Grand Central in Glasgow on June 18th.
