How SPA can support Single Building Assessments, Mitigations and Building Remediation
SPA has compliant options for public sector organisations to access specialist expertise to conduct Single Building Assessments (SBA), mitigations and building remediation in compliance with the Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Act.

While the current surge in demand often leads to high costs and procurement delays, SPA’s dedicated frameworks offer a streamlined and reliable route to market.

There are several appointed companies have satisfied the Scottish Government criteria for assessors and are approved to perform Single Building Assessments (SBA).

How it works
1 Social landlord, housing association, or local authority instructs the assessment.
2 A qualified Fire Safety Engineer conducts the on-site inspection on internal risks and external cladding.
3 Specific risks are identified to form a robust remediation plan, ranging from immediate mitigation to full scale cladding removal.
4 A final SBA report is produced to document necessary safety changes and inform further action.
