Upcoming framework opportunities
In a year full of restrictions, SPA have endeavoured to continue their support of their Partners and Appointed Companies by developing and enhancing our procurement solutions.
We have recently conducted pre-tender engagement for the renewal of our New Build Housing Framework. The first iteration, H1, has had over £145M worth of projects of all sizes and scopes go through it to date from the Scottish Borders to Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. H2 will build on the success of the first framework and our engagement webinars were the first step.
At SPA, we know that our Partners face different challenges due to their geographical locations. We conducted our pre-tender sessions regionally to ensure that these challenges are taken into consideration. We received feedback on our proposals for the new framework from our Partners, Appointed Companies, and the wider market. We are now collating this and preparing our documentation ahead of the first stage of our tender. The tender is expected to go live in May 2021 with our anticipated launch of the framework in April 2022.
This year, we have two further framework renewals, which we will be conducting our pre-tender market engagement for – Windows & Doors (WD1) and Supply of Kitchen Units and Worktops (K6).
Our Windows & Doors Framework is an amalgamation of two frameworks – Timber (TW4) and PVC-U (U-10) – and combines over 40 years of technical expertise. WD1 provides specialist suppliers for the supply and/or supply and fit of energy efficient windows and doors for a wide variety of public buildings. Over £15M worth of projects have gone through this framework to date. We are pleased to have facilitated effective public spending across the country, with projects completed from Moray and the North East of Scotland down to Berwickshire and the Borders.
Our Supply of Kitchen Units and Worktops Framework provides for the supply only of kitchen cabinets for all kitchen retrofit programmes and includes manufacturers across Scotland and the UK. The framework is flexible and offers various ranges of cabinets from a base to enhanced standard. This framework also specialises in providing adapted cabinets for disabled users. This iteration has seen just under £5M worth of projects go through it throughout its life cycle.
For every new procurement solution we develop, our team carry out extensive market engagement with our public sector Partners and wider supply chain network. We anticipate holding the pre-tender engagement events for our WD1 and K6 frameworks in late May or early June. These will likely be carried out as online webinars until restrictions are relaxed.
