Bespoke Procurement Training

Through our strategic partnership with the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA), we have provided procurement training in a variety of forms since 2016. From roadshows to webinars, at SPA we are committed to supporting our partners and the wider sector in building procurement excellence/knowledge.

The main aim of our collaboration with SFHA’s Procurement Advisory Service is to help registered social landlords enhance their skills by providing support and training on things including new regulations. The service has been utilised by 90% of RSL’s across the country, with over 1,000 individuals attending our events. Over time the service has evolved and now includes requested subjects from Lesley Anderson, Head of SPA Procurement. Undeterred by the pandemic, these sessions have still been taking places over Zoom in recent months.

The service has received an overwhelmingly positive response with 100% of those polled saying they would recommend this training to their colleagues and that their skills and knowledge have increased as a result of the training. Fiona Maguire, Asset and Development Manager at Rural Stirling Housing Association said of the bespoke training her organisation received from Lesley:

“Thank you so much for the training session. I think you got the message across loud and strong! … And certainly, gave those within our team that do commission services or supplies the confidence to potentially consider a framework or DPS.”

While we reserve our dedicated team of client support managers, technical specialists and procurement experts for you, our valued partners, we are proud to provide beneficial sessions that encourage best practice and inspire intelligent procurement solutions across the sector. We will continue to work hard to serve Scotland, enhance RSL’s and improve our local communities.
